Harmonised notice on the legal guarantee

EU harmonised notice on the legal guarantee of conformity. In short: goods sold in the EU have a legal guarantee of at least two years; if an item does not match its description or does not work as expected, the seller must repair or replace it free of charge and, in some cases, reduce the price or refund it; commercial guarantees come in addition to the legal guarantee; if you have a problem, contact the seller and keep your proof of purchase. Who provides the guarantee

The seller of all products bought on filicorizecchini.com is G.I.Fi.Ze. Gruppo Industriale Filicori Zecchini S.p.A., Via Lombardia 55, 40024 Osteria Grande (BO), Italy. For the legal guarantee you always contact us, including for products of other brands.

What it covers

We are liable for any lack of conformity that exists at the time of delivery and becomes apparent within 2 years of delivery. A product is in conformity if it matches the description and characteristics stated on the website, works as intended and has the quality you can reasonably expect.

  • If the defect becomes apparent within 1 year of delivery, it is presumed to have existed at delivery: you do not have to prove it.
  • For coffee, tea and other food products, conformity also covers keeping quality up to the date shown on the pack, provided the product has been stored as indicated.
  • The guarantee does not cover damage caused by improper use, failure to follow the instructions or the storage conditions indicated, or normal wear and tear.

What you can ask for

  1. Repair or replacement, at your choice, free of charge and within a reasonable time, unless the remedy you choose is impossible or disproportionately costly compared with the other.
  2. A price reduction or termination of the contract with a refund, if repair or replacement is not possible, is not carried out within a reasonable time, the defect reappears or is serious enough to justify it.

All necessary costs, including shipping to collect and return the product, are paid by us.

Time limits

  • Let us know about the defect within 2 months of discovering it.
  • Legal action to enforce the guarantee becomes time-barred 26 months after delivery.
  • If you live in another EU country, the law of your country may give you broader rights, which remain valid.

How to make a claim

  1. Write to e-store.italia@gifize.it stating your order number, the product, a short description of the defect and, if possible, some photos or a short video.
  2. We will reply within 7 days with instructions: if needed, we will arrange collection of the product at no cost to you.
  3. Keep your order confirmation or invoice: it is your proof of purchase.

Machines and accessories bought in the past

If you bought a machine or an accessory on filicorizecchini.com that is no longer for sale, the legal guarantee remains valid for 2 years from delivery and you can claim it by writing to us as described above. Any commercial guarantee from the manufacturer, set out in the certificate or manual in the box, comes in addition to the legal guarantee and does not replace it.

Products that arrive damaged

If the parcel arrives visibly damaged you can refuse it or accept it with reservation. In any case, write to us as soon as possible with photos of the parcel and the product: until delivery the transport risk is ours, and we will replace or refund the damaged product.

Guarantee and withdrawal are two different things

The right of withdrawal lets you return a product within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason, even if it is not defective. To use it, go to the page Withdraw from the contract here. The legal guarantee, on the other hand, concerns defective or non-conforming products and lasts 2 years.
