The system for "filtering coffee by piston"
Coffee made with the French press is pleasant and rich in aroma. To achieve the perfect balance, the quality of the coffee (Arabica only), the correct dosage, and the grinding are essential.
1
The French Press consists of a cylindrical jug, made of Pyrex glass or other heat-resistant material, and a lid fitted with a plunger that ends in a strainer.
2
Heat the water (530 ml approx.) to a temperature between 92°C - 96°C.
3
Grind coffee to a medium-fine particle size (Moka coffee will also do).
4
Pour ground coffee into the coffee maker.
5
The correct amount of coffee is as in the illustration, between about 15 and 30 g and depends on the capacity of the coffee maker.
6
Pour in hot water, up to the level of about 3 cm from the rim of the coffee pot.
7
Let it steep for 3 to 4 minutes. Some of the coffee powder will settle to the bottom of the coffee pot.
8
Stir well for a few seconds.
9
Insert the plunger connected to the lid and press gently, to prevent the coffee from spilling. The filter will separate the beverage from the coffee powder.
10
Pour coffee into the cup, preferably a mug.
