Direct sourcing

From the very beginning of our operations, we have chosen to ensure consistent quality for our customers through the creation and maintenance of established relationships with green coffee farmers. For many years, we have been purchasing the best Arabica varieties from the same producers in Brazil and Central America and the finest Robusta varieties in India. This allows us to maintain unchanged in taste and aroma our historic blends, so beloved at the café as well as at home.

Separate roasting

In the composition of blends generally 3 or 4 different single-origin coffees are used. We, from the beginning, have always chosen to roast separately all the single origins that make up each blend, in order to respect the organoleptic characteristics of each type of bean and to bring out and enhance all its aromas. Only after roasting are the individual origins blended to make up our fine blends.

We respect our roots, producing Espresso Coffee according to the formula of Italian tradition, but we are not afraid to experiment, invest in continuous renewal and commitment to improvement. So we explore all the ways in which the world knows and tastes coffee, even those that are distant from our Italianity.

Italian espresso

We are specialists in Italian Espresso. For this reason, all of Filicori Zecchini's espresso blends are IEI certified, that is, they meet the strict specifications of the Italian Espresso Institute, which determines their color, texture and aroma. However, we express our modernity in the 100% Arabica blends, in the development of products based on single coffee origins and in the different degrees of roasting we propose for them.

We are among the few Italian roasters to offer its customers coffees intended to be extracted by the most popular percolation methods: Automatic Drip Machine, Chemex and Hario V60. These are very popular methods in the world, in Italy often ignored, and with so many variations, each with its own peculiar characteristics. Our vocation for modernity and our cosmopolitan spirit drive us to want to explore and promote everything about the world of coffee.

The HoReCa world has always been our core business. We have been operating in this sector since the beginning of our entrepreneurial adventure and have achieved our greatest satisfaction. Our philosophy in approaching this sector is that our success coincides with that of our customers, which is precisely why we like to call them Partners. Our hundred years of experience as coffee roasters is a concrete guarantee: we know the needs of our Partners. That is why we have come up with a series of specific proposals to meet the needs of each type of establishment. We then also take care of the training of the café staff, because we are aware that a roasting company that cares about the fortunes of its Partners, in order to help them grow must share its knowledge about coffee with them. We are very proud of the success of our Espresso Workshop: in fact, each year more than 1,200 HoReCa professionals benefit from the teachings of our Coffee Trainers.

Coffee Lovers

We are convinced that the world of coffee has remarkable similarities with the world of wine. Just as in the creation of a great wine, in the creation of a great coffee the raw material cannot be chosen at random or substituted with another, perhaps more convenient at a given time. As with wine, Terroir is of paramount importance in coffee. We use a few trusted growers with whom we have been working for many years now. So we know where our raw material grows and the care put into cultivation. We are sure that there are also coffee lovers in Italy, just as they are so widespread abroad, who share our love for this extraordinary beverage. Thus, for them we have developed a line of Gourmet Coffee for home consumption, into which we have transfused our best professional blends, complemented by the possibility of tasting single origins in purity with specific degrees of roasting for each.

Modern Trade

For this distribution channel, we chose a new approach. We decided to focus on three blends-Classico, 100% Arabica, and 100% Arabica BIO and Fairtrade certified-which, to meet all consumer needs, we chose to decline for all popular extraction systems: Beans, Ground, in Paper Pods and in Compatible Capsules. We decided, then, to ground brand recognition by choosing a single white color for product packaging, which makes them easily identifiable on the shelf. Finally, our new pouches have been developed to ensure excellent quality, thanks to advanced preservation techniques, and thanks to the choice of recyclable materials with no aluminum that are environmentally friendly because they are easy to dispose of.

We have come up with the Attimo di Pausa line of coffee beans (Classic, Organic, and Arabica) and a line of pods and capsules-compatible with the leading coffee machines on the market-that guarantee a cup of coffee almost as good as at the bar. We abide by the rules of the industry while keeping an eye on value for money.

Working for the next generation today for us at Filicori Zecchini means limiting, as much as possible, the environmental impact in production and committing ourselves, daily, to researching technologies and materials, which increasingly reduce the environmental footprint of our production cycle. We do this by choosing to use recyclable materials in packaging and by creating a line of 100% biodegradable compatible capsules that are biodegradable in a few weeks and packaged with packaging made from recycled materials.
