The Kaiguthu station (Othaya, Nyeri), active since 1964 and located above 1,700 m a.s.l., collects the cherries of 480 smallholders of the Othaya Farmers Cooperative Society. The SL28, SL34 and Ruiru 11 varieties are grown on volcanic soils and processed with the washed method under the supervision of James Nderitu Gathua.
