- 3 teaspoons of sugar
- 150 ml of milk (whole, 2% or skim)
- 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder
Preparation:
- Prepare a good coffee using the espresso machine (or the moka, according to your taste).Let it cool for at least ten minutes.
- In the blender, put the ice cubes and blend until crushed.
- Add the cold coffee, milk, sugar, and cocoa and blend for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the frappe coffee into a large, tall glass and decorate as you like with whipped cream on the top, or by adding a touch of style with a topping of chocolate shavings or crushed hazelnuts.
If you wish, you can substitute a vegan milk that you like for the cow’s milk.

Frappe coffee and smoothie: what are the differences?
Often used as synonyms, these two terms indicate very different preparations.
Both drinks are obtained by blending ice, sugar and, usually, milk together with the ingredient that corresponds to the flavor desired.
But the difference between a frappe and a smoothie is as simple as it is fundamental: the first is prepared with milk or icecream with sugar, while the second is prepared with fruit.
For this reason, despite the fact that you have undoubtedly read on menus the option “coffee smoothie”, this product does not actually exist!
