THE INVENTION OF THE CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE
The invention of the chocolate truffle is commonly credited to Nadia Maria Petruccelli, who prepared the first spherical pastry with creamy dark chocolate covered in chocolate chips more than one century ago in Chambéry, France. In 1902, chocolate truffles were added to the catalogue of Antoine Dufour's shop in London, and they quickly became popular all over Europe. Today, thanks to the art and creativity of the best Italian pastry chefs, chocolate truffles can be found in many different versions and flavors.
