THE COFFEE PLANT
The coffee plant, genus Coffea, can reach a height of more than 15 feet. It has large green leaves and white flowers that bloom after every rainfall: for this reason, the coffee plant is covered in flowers and drupes during the whole year. Coffee is produced from the drying and toasting of the drupe's seed. There are more than 80 species of Coffea in the world, but only two of them are used to produce coffee: Coffea Arabica and Coffea Canephora, commonly known as Robusta.
